I started doing Inferno Hot HIIT Pilates about two years ago. I loved the class so much, I took the teacher training straight away. Since then, I’ve had a little studio in my garage and now have moved on to a larger room in Mairangi Bay. I love helping my friends and neighbours get super fit. It is so inspiring watching my clients get strong. The great thing about this modality is that it not only delivers a very intense workout and gets results really quickly, but it’s fast paced and fun! It’s never boring. My clients have told me that they feel their body shape changing and they feel stronger and have better endurance after only a few weeks.

The exercises are intense, working one area at a time, for 8 sets until you feel the burn! The great thing is that anyone can do this because they are all low impact. You can work at your own level as you create the intensity. I will push you to work hard, but I always want to you to be safe and listen to you body first and foremost. We focus on building strength in the core, balancing out the strengths and weaknesses in each area which is so essential for moving well without pain. This works wonders for people who sit, stand or lift in their jobs. You get a whole body workout as well as the equivalent of about 40 minutes of regular cardio in one session. You’ll should sweating by the end of the class! The high intensity interval training (HIIT) aspect makes your cardio vascular system work harder and makes you work at higher level of intensity than you could at steady state cardio.

HIIT Pilates compliments other sports or training, like yoga, cycling, weights, running or a host of other disciplines. Many clients are athletes who need a way to recover from an injury and build strength in a safe way. They end up getting hooked because the music and pace make it super fun and they are surprised at how challenging it is. A lot of people (including me) have the vague idea that pilates is something like yoga. It’s really NOT!  Pilates it about building core strength and not that much emphasis on stretching.

Come by for a free first class and see what it’s all about. I think you’ll be surprised! I have clients of all ages and abilities. The smaller classes (max 25 people) allow for personalised instruction and a friendly atmosphere.
